Autumn Term 2001: A Summary of Events.

13th December: Thank you to our Acting Director of Music, Mr A Biggs, for organising a wonderful Carol Service today, and well done to the boys who took part in the readings and the Choirs.
7th December - Parents and other visitors have enjoyed the Nativity plays performed by the children of the Kindergarten and the Pre-Prep.
1st December: The new building now looks very smart - see Project News below.
21st November: Swimming - despite several good individual performances, the Aldwickbury Team beat the York House Team.
8th November: Junior Inter-House Soccer - Nelson beat Drake 3-0, and Marlborough beat Wellington 3-0. Junior Tournament Winners - Marlborough.
5th November: Senior Inter-House Soccer - Drake beat Nelson 4-1, and Marlborough beat Wellington 6-1. Senior Tournament Winners - Drake.
3rd November: The car parking returns to normal, at last! (Click on Project News)
31st October: Soccer v. Lochinver - Colts A won 4-2, Colts B won 3-1; 1st XI lost 4-0, 2nd XI lost 2-1.
13th October: Lots of parents and other visitors came to our open morning to see our new facilities.
10th October: Soccer results against St Martins - at home 1st XI drew 4-4 and Colts B won 1-0; away 2nd XI won 1-2 and Colts A lost 3-1.
8th October: In the Senior House Matches, Drake drew with Wellington 2-2 and Nelson beat Marlborough 6-2.
7th October: Our Under 10s came 4th out of 8 schools in the Berkhamsted Soccer Tournament today.
5th October: Mufti Day raises over £600 for the Jeans for Genes charity - Thank You Everyone!
3rd October: The Pre-Prep have now moved into their super new building - see Project News
27th Sept: In the Junior House Matches, Marlborough beat Drake 4-1 and Wellington beat Nelson 1-0.
26th Sept: Our 1st and 2nd XI Soccer Teams both beat St Anthony's School 3-2 & 3-1 resp.
24th Sept: In the Senior House Matches, Drake beat Marlborough 2-1 and Nelson drew with Wellington 1-1.
22nd Sept: Playing away against Aldwickbury our 1st XI lost but our Colts A won 3-4. At home our Colts B lost but our 2nd XI won their match.
19th Sept: 1st XI and Colts soccer teams both won their matches against St.Georges School, 5-1 and 5-4 resp. - Well done boys!
14 Sept: At 11.00 a.m. today the boys and staff observed a 3 minute silence in respect of those who lost their lives in the U.S. tragedy. Our thoughts go out to their loved ones.

Summer Term 2001: A Summary of Events.

7th July: Term ended with a splendid Speech Day - thank you to our guest speaker: Mr.R.S.Harman M.A., Headmaster of Aldenham School.
6th July: Marlborough won the Inter-House Swimming Sports.
4th July: Drake beat Nelson in the Inter-House Cricket Final; Marlborough beat Wellington in the 3rd place play-off.
3rd July: Parents and visitors were treated to a splendid evening of music, poetry readings, and a display of ADT work by the boys at the annual YHS Arts Festival.
28th June: Our boys did well in the IAPS Swimming Championships - Thomas achieved the Gold Medal!
27th June: In the cricket matches against Davenies the Colts XI drew and the 1st XI won.
22nd June: Drake and Nelson won the first round of the Inter-House cricket matches.
21st June: Everyone had a super day out on the Outings Day trips.
18th June: Our boys put in some excellent performances at the IAPS Area Athletics.
15th June: House matches - rain stopped play.
13th June: Cricket v. Northwood - YHS 1st and 2nd XIs both won, the Colts A drew and the Colts B lost.
7th June: YHS Junior Athletes came third out of eight schools at St Martins - well done!
24th May: YHS Athletics team came 4th, but well done to Aaron and Max for their excellent individual wins.
23rd May: Cricket - Colts A & B teams lost but the 2nd XI drew and the 1st XI won - St John's 73 all out, YHS 74 for 2; Josh 7 wickets, Ross 31 not out and James 21 not out.
19th May: Many thanks to the PA and to all those who supported a splendid May Fair.
11th May: YHS Swimmers lost their match against Aldwickbury.
9th May: Colts and 1st XI both win their matches against St.George's. Colts: St G. 36 all out, YHS 37 for 1. 1st XI: St.G 67 all out, YHS 68 for 6.
April showers: Despite the awful weather, the Stoners team is making good progress with our new building project.

Spring Term 2001: A Summary of Events.

29th March: The Inter-House Debate was won by Marlborough House.
28th March: The two performances of Bugsy Malone drew huge audiences and were a tremendous success - well done everyone!
26th March: 1sts put in a good performance but lost their game against a strong St Anthony's team.
21st March: 1st XII lost their rugby match against St George's but the Colts won 47 - 0.
16th March: Congratulations to Leigh for gaining a top Scholarship to Berkhamsted School - Well Done!.
7th March: 1st XV and Colts XII rugby teams beat Quainton Hall School.
2nd March: York House Team 2nd in the St Martins Road Relay.
28th Feb: 1st XV beat Lochinver 26 - 5; Colts lost a close game 12 - 14.
Congratulations to Adrian, achieving the top Scholarship Award to St Albans School - Well Done!
14th Feb: The 1st XV were beaten by St Martin's but the Colts XII won their match, 12-5, with tries by Max and Tim, and a conversion by George.
12th Feb: Well done the 6th Formers who achieved very good results in the MTS Scholarship Examinations, especially Christopher for gaining a Scholarship.
10th Feb: Many thanks to the PA for an excellent Quiz Night, and congratulations to the winning team!
8th Feb: Well done the 6th Formers who achieved very good results in the Berkhamsted Preliminaries.
5th & 6th Feb: Aaron won the Silver Medal in the Lambrook/Haileybury Cross Country, and the Bronze Medal At the Ellis Cross Country.
31st January: Rugby v. St John's - 1st XV lost, but the Colts XII drew 10-10 in an exciting match.
29th January: York House 2nd in Cross Country against 8 other schools, and well done Aaron - 1st in the senior race.
26th January: Approved building project for new Kindergarten and Pre-Prep Department
24th January: The 1st XV enjoyed a rugby coaching session, a tour of the school, and dinner with Roger Uttley at Harrow School.
19th January: Nelson win the Inter-House Cross Country. Rugby matches knocked out by the freezing weather.
17th January: The 4th Year Colts enjoyed a rugby coaching session, a tour of the school, and dinner with Roger Uttley at Harrow School.
Thanks to the generosity of the children and their parents we have raised over £1400 for charity during last term.

14th Feb: "Portacabin City" - the Pre-Prep's temporary home - is taking shape.

28th Jan: As part of its ongoing investment programme, the School has received planning permission from the local authority, Three Rivers District Council, for the building of 9 new classrooms for the Kindergarten and Pre-Prep Departments. Building work is expected to start within the next few weeks and the new facilities are scheduled to be completed by the start of the next academic year - September 2001.
