Autumn Term 2005: A Summary of Events.

13th Dec: A large congregation of boys, parents and visitors enjoyed a wonderful Carol Service at All Saints' Church - thank you to all involved.
21st Nov: Our swimmers did well today with several good wins in individual events and in relays. However, Adlwickbury scored more points to win the match.
16 Nov: Our teams tried hard against Beechwood today but the 1st XI drew 1-1, the 2nd XI lost 3-2, Colts A lost 2-1 and Colts B lost 1-0.
12th Nov: Two hard games for our senior boys against Haileybury today but the 2nd XI drew 2-2 and the 1st XI won 4-1 - well done!
9th Nov: Against Lochinver the Colts Teams both lost (A: 6-2 and B: 4-2) but the 1st XI won 3-1 and the 2nd XI won 3-2.
2nd Nov: A good day for the YHS Soccer Teams - 1st XI won 3-2, 2nd XI won 6-1, Colts A drew 2-2, and Colts B won 1-0. Well done boys!
28th Oct: The boys will be able to use the new building from Monday - here are some inside views:

12th Oct: Against St Anthony's today the 1st XI lost 3-1 but the 2nd XI won 3-0; against Berkhamsted our Colts won 5-1, four scored by Tom - Well Done!
10th Oct: The YHS Colts had a great day against St Anthony's - the A Team won 4-0 and the B Team won 6-2. Well Done!
8th Oct: It was a pleasure to see so many visitors at our two Open Days this week - thanks to all involved, but a special thank you to the boys who conducted the tours of the school so well.
5th Oct: In the soccer matches against St Martin's today Colts A and B lost but the 1st and 2nd XI both won.
3rd Oct: Inter-House Soccer - Form V: Marlborough beat Nelson and Wellington beat Drake; Form VI: Nelson beat Marlborough and Wellington beat Drake; Form VII & VIII: Marlborough beat Nelson and Wellington beat Drake.
28th Sept: Our soccer teams did well against St George's today - 1st XI won 6-2, 2nd XI won 3-2, Colts B won 4-0, and Colts A drew 3-3. Well done boys!
22nd Sept: Junior House Soccer - Year 4: Nelson beat Wellington and Marlborough beat Drake; Year 3: Wellington beat Nelson and Drake beat Marlborough.
21st Sept: A splendid victory for the YHS Under 10s today as they beat St George's 3-1 - Well Done Boys!
19th Sept: Inter-House Soccer - Form V: Marlborough beat Drake and Wellington beat Nelson; Form VI: Drake beat Marlborough and Nelson beat Wellington; Form VII & VIII: Marlborough beat Drake and Nelson beat Wellington.
17th Sept: The YHS Colts A, Colts B and 2nd XI were all defeated by Aldwickbury today, but the YHS 1st XI won their match 3-1. Well Done the 1sts!

Summer Term 2005: A Summary of Events.

9th July: A splendid Speech Day, though tinged with sadness as Mr & Mrs Moore are retiring, but guest speaker Canon Wilkinson entertained us all with his witty and thought-provoking speech before presenting the prizes.
8th July: 2nd July: Marlborough House won the Inter-House Swimming Sports today, again beating Wellington into 2nd place. Well Done Marlborough!
6th July: Convincing victories for all our cricket teams today against Lochinver - and Zach scored a century! Well done - a fine end to the season!
5th July: This evening, a packed Archdale Hall enjoyed a splendid Senior Arts Festival of music, recitations, and displays - congratulations to all who made it such a success.
2nd July: Marlborough House won the Inter-House Athletics Sports today, beating Wellington into 2nd place, Nelson 3rd and Drake 4th.
30th June: In the Tennis Finals today, Matthew won the singles trophy, and Matt & JP won the doubles trophy.
29th June: The Colts B Cricket Team drew with Lockers Park today but the Colts A, 1st XI and 2nd XI lost their games.
24th June: The boys enjoyed putting and throwing their money away today, as it was for a good cause - the Sparks children's charity - and raised over £1100.

22nd June: 1st and 2nd XI beat St Anthony's today and Bhairav scored a century - Well Done!
20th June: In the finals Marlborough beat Wellington to take the Inter-house Cricket Trophy, and Drake beat Nelson to take 3rd place.
13th June: In the London Area Championships, Charlie came 2nd in Under 13 High Jump and Javelin; Marcus came 1st in the Under 13 Discus; Tom came 2nd in Under 14 100m and 1st in Under 14 200m - Well Done Boys and Good Luck in the Nationals!
12th June: Phase 3 - The roof beams are added.

9th June: Junior Inter-House Cricket - 1st Wellington, 2nd Nelson, 3rd Marlborough, 4th Drake.
24th-30th May: Phase 3 - The walls arrive and the structure takes shape..

23rd May: In the 1st Round of Senior Inter-House Cricket, Marlborough beat Drake and Wellington beat Nelson.
19th May: Our Athletics Teams were the overall victors of the Europa Cup Event at St Martin's, winning 3 of the 4 age-groups - Well Done!
18th May: Cricket v. St.John's - 1st XI lost, YHS 138 for 9 - SJ 142 for 7; 2nd XI lost, YH 72 all out - SJ 73 for 7; Colts A won, YH 86 all out - SJ 81 all out; Colts B won, SJ 52 all out - YH 53 for 9 in the last ball of the game.
17th May: Phase 3 - The floor beams are lowered into place, supervised by the Pre-Prep boys.

14th May: Phase 3 - The foundations of the new building are taking shape.

11th May: Cricket v.St.Martin's - 1st XI lost, 135 for 9 - 123 all out; 2nd XI drew, YH 140 all out - SM 64 for 9; Colts A drew, SM 169 for 4 - YH 97 for 7; Colts B lost, SM 73 all out - YH 53 all out.
7th May: Cricket v.Aldwickbury - 1st XI drew; 2nd XI won by 76-62 runs in 25 overs; Colts A lost 156-85 all out; Colts B won by 9 wickets (28-29 for 1).
4th May: Colts A won: St George's all out 26, YHS 27 for 0; Colts B won: St George's all out 18, YHS 19 for 2 - a good start to the season!
29th Apr: The York House Swimming Team was just beaten in the final relay by Aldwickbury in a very close match - YHS 162:AS 168.
15th Apr: At last, the final demolition - IIIH bites the dust.

6th Apr: The old foundations are broken up and the portacabins are nearly ready.

4th Apr: The Art Room is not a pretty picture (but it could be an exhibit at Tate Modern).

1st Apr: The old science lab is gutted while IIIT classroom is flattened.

Spring Term 2005: A Summary of Events.

21-22 Mar: Audiences enjoyed the splendid production of "Adventures in Wonderland" - Congratulations and Thank You to all involved, and Well Done Roman!
17th Mar: In the final, the Marlborough Team beat Nelson to win the Inter-House Debating Cup; Drake was 3rd and Wellington 4th.
16th Mar: The 1st XV beat Merchant Taylors U13 Team today, 35-15. Well Done Boys!!
10th Mar: The U11 A Team runners were the winners of the St John's Cross Country Race today against five other schools; Matthew SH finished fourth.
9th Mar: Wellington House won the Rugby Sevens Tournament today.
7th Mar: The YHS 1st XV rugby team beat St Anthony's by 31-0 today.
4th Mar: In the first round of the Inter-House Debating Competition Nelson beat Drake and Marlborough beat Wellington.
2nd Mar: Two good rugby victories today - Colts beat St Anthony's 31-0 and the 1sts beat St John's A 54-12.
25th Feb: St Martin's Road Relay - YHS Senior Team 1st and Junior Team 2nd; Matthew L 2nd and Matthew W 6th - Well Done Boys!
8th Feb: The 1st and 2nd XV beat St Martin's today but both Colts teams lost their matches.
4th Feb: The 1st XV beat Beechwood Park 1st XV today but the Colts lost their match.
3rd Feb: YHS Senior and Junior Cross Country Teams came 6th overall out of 12 schools in the Lambrook-Haileybury Event today.
2nd Feb: Against St George's today the 1st XV won 59-0; however, the Colts A Team lost 27-7 and the Colts B Team drew 0-0.
26th Jan: Both YHS Colts teams were overwhelmed by the more experienced St John's Colts today, losing heavily.
24th Jan: The YHS Cross Country Teams came second to Beechwood today in races involving 9 schools; Matthew L. was 1st home in the Senior race in a new school record time!
14 Jan: The House Cross Country today was won overall by Wellington House; Matthew L smashed the old School Record in the Senior race; Matthew S-H was 1st in the Intermediate race; Matthew W was 1st in the Junior Race - Well Done Boys!
