The School is situated in the Hertfordshire countryside, but within
easy reach of Watford, Rickmansworth, Chorleywood and their surrounding
villages. Although it is sited in a quiet, secluded
spot, along Sarratt Road that runs between Chipperfield and Croxley
Green, it is close to the M25 and the A41, and it is easy to access
by car via pleasant country lanes.

Access Routes to the School
-
The approach to York House School on Sarratt Road is sign-posted and
takes you along tree-lined country lanes. The large, wrought-iron gated
entrance to the drive is marked by "School" traffic signs.
Click on the following button to see the schematic road map:-
-
M25, travelling clockwise:
Leave the motorway at Junction 18. You can then turn either
left or right :-
Turning left, you will soon approach a petrol
station on your right; take the right turn at the traffic lights
immediately after the petrol station - this is Solesbridge Lane.
Follow the lane over the M25, then bearing left at the first junction
and turning right at the second.
Turning right, follow the main road for about a
mile to the big roundabout close to Rickmansworth Station. Turn left
towards Watford, then left at the second mini-roundabout - at
Rickmansworth School and Croxley Church - along the Sarratt road.
M25 travelling anticlockwise:
Leave the motorway at Junction 20, turning left onto the A41 south
towards Watford and London. You will soon see a traffic light
junction at Langleybury Church - turn right along Langleybury Lane.
Follow the lane to beyond the Clarendon Arms and, when you reach the
Sarratt Road T-junction, turn left
M1 travelling north:
Leave at Junction 5 and take the A41 north, towards Aylesbury.
Travelling north for about 2 miles brings you to a very
large roundabout with the link road to the M25.
Follow the A41 and you will soon approach the traffic
lights at Langleybury Church, where you turn left along
Langleybury Lane and proceed as above.
M1 travelling south:
Either - take the M25 anticlockwise (west
towards Heathrow) and proceed to Junction 20 as above,
Or - leave the M1 at Junction 6 and take the A405 west,
towards Watford. When it meets the A41, turn right, then proceed as above.
